TOUGHMAN confirms Rothman Orthopedic Institute as official run partner

TOUGHMAN Enterprises has announced Rothman Orthopedic Institute, a specialist in musculoskeletal care, as the official run partner for TOUGHMAN NY 2020. As the TOUGHMAN Championship’s run partner, Rothman Orthopaedics will join NorthWell Medical Trauma team (the Official Medical Partner) of TOUGHMAN NY, at the finish line, adding to the medical team for the race weekend.

“Rothman Orthopaedics is thrilled to be a run partner with TOUGHMAN NY,” said Dr Meghan Bishop, Sports Medicine Surgeon at Rothman Orthopaedics New York. “TOUGHMAN is one of the leading triathlon brands in the world, and as a long-time member of the running community myself, we’re proud to be a part of this event and have the opportunity to provide quality orthopaedic care to some of the world’s best athletes.”

TOUGHMAN founder Rich Izzo said, “Having one of the leading orthopaedic groups in the Northeast as part of our medical team makes the support for our athletes second to none.”

This year’s TOUGHMAN will once again kick off its half iron distance triathlon series beginning on March 31st in South America. The first race in the series will occur in Futrono, Chile. The next event will take place once again in Copiapo, Chile, and then move to the US in Ohio before returning to the Pan American TOUGHMAN Championship in Arica, Chile, in June.

According to series founder Rich Izzo, “TOUGHMAN continues to grow in a difficult environment for triathlon due to having race directors of superior quality that represent the brand. The opportunity to market as a group, attract series sponsors and get cost cutting line items due to scale are all the benefits of joining TOUGHMAN.”

Izzo added that he is looking for new race locations in new areas that will offer independent race directors this opportunity.

The South America TOUGHMAN races that will form the Southern circuit include: Futrono, Copiapo, Arica, Quillon and Iquique with a Championship in Arica in June 2020. All races qualify athletes to the TOUGHMAN World Championship on September 13th 2020 in New York.
