USAT Northeast Region Collegiate Conference Race
The mission of the Northeast Collegiate Triathlon Conference (NECTC) is to promote triathlon to collegiate athletes in the region for the growth and development of the sport. The conference aims to develop a community that is both competitive and fun. Race weekend will be on September 14-15, 2024 at Harriman State Park, Lake Welch Beach, NY.

The below schools have a chance to compete in our Ivy League Championship as part of the Northeast Regional Collegiate Conference Championship Race.

About the NECTC
The Northeast Collegiate Conference (NECTC) comprises of all schools in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The major competition of the schools is a race series of sprint and international triathlons that occurs in the fall. Other non-race series are added throughout the year to incorporate a different multi-sport experience such as 70.3 or Xterra races.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Northeast Collegiate Triathlon Conference (NECTC) is to promote triathlon to collegiate athletes in the region for the growth and development of the sport. The conference aims to develop a community that is both competitive and fun. The competition is both an individual and a team competition to bring experienced and novice triathletes together. The goal is to constantly bring in new athletes into a competitive environment using the ephemeral nature of collegiate sports and team competition. The conference is designed to bring in triathletes with various backgrounds, including people that have never races, provide an environment that is competitive and promotes development. The conference, as a community of collegiate triathletes, will bring forth an opportunity and encourage individuals to become elite athletes and/or to build leadership skills revolved around the sport.

Friday, September 13: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. All Races Bag Pickup at Lake Welch
Saturday, September 14: 5:00am – 6:00am ONLY VIP RACE DAY Packet PICKUP

You must pick up your own packet – NO-ONE ELSE CAN PICK UP FOR YOU!
• You need PHOTO ID to collect your packet. If you are a USA Triathlon member you MUST bring your card. If you lost your card or its expired, bring a copy or renewal receipt: www.usatriathlon.org
• Relays do not have to come together to pick-up their packets and the team captain cannot pick up the whole team’s packet. Each member must pick up their own packet.
• Wristbands must be worn from the time you pick up your packet until after the race is over. NO EXCEPTIONS.
• We will gladly exchange your T-shirt size after the race on Sunday. Stop by the Registration tent with your current shirt.
• Chip pickup is only on race morning, located outside the transition area.

You are required to bring photo proof of identity. There are no entry transfers or substitutions. Participants who swap or sell their race number without going through the race management, will not be allowed to race and lose all entry fees as well as be subject to disciplinary action by USAT.
Steps to Print a temporary USAT card for current USAT members:
1. Go to: usatriathlon.org
2. Login using your email address and password (top left-hand corner homepage)
3. Click on “My Account” on the right side of the page
4. Once the page loads click on “Print Temporary Card” (the 7th link on left-hand side of page)

You must be 14 years old or older to participate in any of the TOUGHMAN races (or 14 years old to be part of a relay team). Race age is determined by how old you will be on 12/31 of the current year, which means you may be in an older age group than your current age.

No bike check-in needed. Just show up to the race.

 

You must be able to complete the events within the following cut off times to avoid being pulled from the course for safety reasons:
Swim: 1 hour and 10 minutes
Swim/Bike: 3 hours and 10 minutes
Swim/Bike/Run: 4 hours and 30 minutes
Note that there is a T1 cut off for the last wave entering the water: these athletes have a 10 minute restriction for their T1 from leaving the water to getting on the bike course.

You must be a member of USA Triathlon to compete in the race, including each relay member. If you do not have an annual membership, you must purchase a one-day membership for $15 during the registration process.

Military personnel race against each other to show which branch are truly Toughmen. First place female and male in this category win awesome prizes and an award plaque.

Tri Club Challenge
Who is the Triathlon Club with the FASTEST athletes? It’s not just about individual achievement, but working together for the title of Best Tri Club around! It’s a great camaraderie builder for your club. Athletes in the Challenge will depart with their age group wave and be timed and ranked within their age group. They will also be ranked on a point system depending on where they place in their age group. The Tri Club with the highest points wins the Challenge. The Challenge is open to Age Group, Clydesdale, Athena, Elite, First Responder and Military athletes only.

Points are based on the following scale:
1st place: 10 points
2nd place: 8 points
3rd place: 6 points
4th place: 4 points
5th place: 2 point
Non-place finisher: 1 point
